Colorado PTA’s Mission is “To make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.” Colorado PTA was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 1915. Since its founding, Colorado PTA has served as a nonsectarian and nonpartisan advocate for the well-being of all children and for parental engagement.
Among the designated committees of the state organization that help achieve its mission are Health, Wellness, & Safety, Legislative, and Diversity & Inclusivity. Colorado PTA also serves as a link between the national association, based in Alexandria, VA and local school PTAs, located throughout the State of Colorado. Each local PTA unit maintains its own autonomy, but also benefits from the support of the state and national associations, which provide valuable and timely information, resources, and training. Colorado PTA also enjoys a productive partnership with Colorado Action for Healthy Kids.
