Advancing IDEAS for Health is a research group with an objective to promote the use of proven and promising programs that promote health and wellness in schools.
This collaborative was developed to build on the collective expertise among university researchers committed to a systems approach working with community health professionals, informing the translation of research applying the latest science to sustainable approaches for school-based approaches for comprehensive health and wellness.
IDEAS has two aims. The first is to work with communities on how to interpret and use existing research and evidence-based health and wellness programs, practices, and policies known to effectively promote health and wellness. The second is to conduct new research and test new, innovative comprehensive health and wellness strategies in schools.
Colorado State University: Prevention Research Center, University of Northern Colorado: Active Schools Institute, and Denver University: Center for Rural School Health and Education are the institutions currently participating in this collaborative.
