This template from the Colorado School Safety Resource Center was modeled after the U.S. Department of Education’s four phase model of emergency planning: Prevention/Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery. This model is also in compliance with the Colorado Safe Schools Act (CRS 22-32-109.1) which requires each school district to adopt and implement a safe schools plan. Schools and district can use this resource to identify suggested elements for their school safety plans.
