School-Based Health Center (SBHC) Program

The purpose of the SBHC Program is to provide grants to school-based health centers with priority given to centers that serve a disproportionate number of uninsured or underinsured children and youth (defined as birth to <21 years of age), a low-income population or both. Grants may be awarded to (1) establish new school-based health centers; (2) expand primary health, behavioral health, and oral health services offered by existing school-based health centers; (3) expand public and private health insurance enrollments; and (4) provide support for ongoing operations of school-based health centers.
